Accredited Online Religious Programs

Religious degree programs are excellent choices for students who aren’t looking for a typical degree path. These programs are designed for students whose interests lie in matters of spirituality and who desire to learn more about a particular faith. Many such programs are designed to train men and women for careers in ministry, whether that is in a church setting or with a religious nonprofit. Some religious programs are designed to focus exclusively on religious courses for the entire degree program, while others provide a well-rounded education in the liberal arts, sciences, and social sciences from the worldview of a particular faith. We’ve found that Christian colleges, for instance, offer degree programs in a variety of areas, such as education, accounting, or criminal justice, but present them from a Christian worldview, requiring a few courses in biblical studies and Christian thought for all students. However, such colleges also offer degree programs in religion and theology that center more courses on Christian thought and Bible study.

Online programs are offered by Bible colleges and schools of theology, while on-ground programs are offered for those who wish to pursue a full, accredited degree program focused on Islamic studies or Muslim studies. For those with advanced degrees, teaching at the college level is a viable career option. Other graduates of religious programs take up careers as clergy and become pastors, evangelists, missionaries, worship leaders, and other types of church leaders and church workers. Those who pursue a degree in Islamic studies may choose to work in Muslim cultural centers or schools, nonprofit organizations, or become imams, or Muslim spiritual leaders. Nonprofit careers for those with a religious degree might include outreach to at-risk youth, addiction recovery, and compassionate ministries that provide food and supplies to needy population groups.
